How about a Learning Vacation?

Earn an Alaska Adventure Certificate
Travelers with Alaska Educational Tours desire adventure. Our visitors not only witness Alaskans at work and play; they participate, explore and engage in extraordinary activities. Cross-culture experiences come from interacting with our guides, Native elders, and facilitators and Alaska itself. Every traveler receives an Alaska Adventure Certificate, an exclusive certificate from Alaska Educational Tours acknowledging participation for increasing one’s knowledge of the 49th state.


Earn Credits or CEUs
Alaska Educational Tours offers a unique opportunity for professional development. We offer two continuing education opportunities through the University of Alaska.

  1. Interested travelers may earn 2 CEUs (continuing education units) from Prince William Sound Community College.

 

Alaskan Experience 2008 (2 CEUs)
Each tour is designed with participant interests, local events and scheduled activities in mind. Seminars and Workshops will vary with the season, destination and selected activities. Visitors may participate in any Seminar or Workshop to fulfill the contact hour requirement. Partial CEUs are not available.
2 CEUs = 20 contact hours          $100

  1. Certified teachers may receive a Pass/No Pass for a Continuing Education course through University of Alaska Anchorage - College of Education.


ED 546 Discovering Alaska: Standards-based
& Integrated Studies (3 credits)
Participants, immersed in daily lives of Alaskans, learn content, basic skills, and related issues associated with natural and social sciences through extended cross cultural, research-oriented, field-based experiences. By attending workshop sessions facilitated by local experts, participants explore geographic/geologic, cultural, linguistic, historical, ecological, economic, and political factors impacting urban, rural, and remote communities. The purpose of this course is to help the classroom teachers or teacher educators transform knowledge of Alaska into practical, teachable lessons and units.
Pass/No Pass         $359 plus fees
